About this video

TOP 100 English Grammar Rules 2025

Top 100 English Grammar Rules 2025 is a free grammar course for SSC and other government exams with 37 videos in 18 chapters: the Top 100 Grammar Rules (6 sessions), Spotting Errors (5 lessons on error detection and correction), Sentence Improvement (6), Active and Passive Voice (3), Direct and Indirect Speech (3), Fill in the Blanks (2), Spot the Error previous-year questions, and one rule session each for Syntax, Noun, Verb, Adverb, Adjective, Article, Preposition, Conjunction, Question Tags and Superfluous expressions.

The English section of SSC CGL, CHSL and MTS gives most of its marks to grammar-based questions: error spotting, sentence improvement, voice and narration. Each video teaches the rule with the exam sentence it is tested in, in Hindi explanation with English examples, which is why this series works for Hindi-medium students who fear English.

  • Order: Introduction, then the Top 100 Rules sessions, then Spotting Errors and Sentence Improvement, then the topic-wise rule videos.
  • Vocabulary: the English Vocabulary Series by Crazy GkTrick covers the word-based questions.

Frequently asked questions

How many grammar questions come in SSC CGL English?
SSC CGL Tier 1 has 25 English questions, of which around 10 to 12 are grammar-based: spotting errors, sentence improvement, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech and fill in the blanks. Tier 2 has more. CHSL and MTS follow a similar pattern.

What are the most important grammar rules for spotting errors?
Subject-verb agreement, correct use of articles, prepositions after specific words, pronoun case, tense consistency, adjective and adverb forms, conjunction pairs and superfluous words cause most errors in SSC sentences. The Top 100 Rules sessions and the Spotting Errors lessons cover all of these.

Is this course taught in Hindi?
Yes, the rules are explained in Hindi with English example sentences, so Hindi-medium aspirants can understand the logic behind each rule, not just memorise it.

Does the series include previous year questions?
Yes, there is a dedicated Spot the Error PYQs video, and the lessons use sentences modelled on previous SSC papers.
